Gracias al éxito de los libros de Canción de hielo y fuego y la serie de televisión que se basa en ellos, Juego de tronos, el nombre de George R. R. Martin es uno de esos que ya se coloca en letras de gran tamaño en los títulos y en las cubiertas de cualquiera de las obras en las que esté involucrado. Y esto es así porque el nombre vende por sí solo.
Es el caso de Portales, un cómic escrito por el hoy famosísimo escritor. Reescrito, habría que decir, porque cómo él mismo explica en la introducción que contiene el libro estamos ante el guión de un episodio piloto para una serie de televisión que no tuvo suerte. Y más que reescrito, reinventado, porque Stefano Martino le pone ilustraciones sin conocer el referente audiovisual, que se llegó a editar en vídeo hace años. Sería fácil la loa a Portales por los méritos del escritor que hoy es George R. R. Martin gracias a su saga literaria de fantasía, pero sería injusto tomar ese camino.
Y es que Portales no tiene nada que ver con Juego de tronos, ni por género, ni por tono, ni por personajes. Sí en algunos pasajes por calidad. Portales es una historia espléndida, un perfecto entretenimiento incluso a pesar de algunos tópicos que maneja.
